The Kakarook Project is located 250km ENE of Kalgoorlie and 15km NE of the Mulga Rock uranium deposits (reported 47,000t U3O8) in the Gunbarrel Basin, Western Australia. The Project area formed part of a large regional uranium exploration project by PNC Australia before the discovery of the Mulga Rock Deposits.

Areas of uranium mineralisation were found in and around the project area but were not followed-up in detail as the main focus was directly around the Mulga Rock deposit.
Previous exploration for uranium in the area resulted in the definition of conglomerate-filled palaeochannels which contained uranium, confirming mineralising processes were active. Digital terrain data, not available during original exploration, show several interpreted palaeochannels which drained the Yilgarn Craton to the N and E and have geometries similar to those in the vicinity of the Mulga Rock deposits.
A drilling campaign is being organised to test previously reported anomalies within the conglomerate-filled palaeochannels and to assess the mineralisation style and depth.
